My visit went smoothly. The service on Thursday evening (opened until 7PM) was fast and efficient. I changed the address on my ID Card in 5 minutes. For all the rest of the services, I managed online. The commune was very responsive via email.

This place is absolutely amazing. I couldn't get an appointment before my passport expired, so I thought, "No problem, I'll just take half a day off work and wait." I arrived at 8:30 a.m. in a great mood and took a ticket. When I entered the waiting hall, I was thrilled to see there were only 150 people ahead of me, served by about five desks. Even better, they managed to process almost 30 people per hour. I was so excited that I spent my time walking around the building and happily racked up over 4,000 steps. At 10:00 a.m., after the staff had already worked for two whole hours, they apparently deserved a well-earned 45-minute break, so more than half of the desks closed. At 12:30 p.m. it was finally my turn. Just four hours to renew my passport and driver's licence. Incredible efficiency. Schaarbeek, you're amazing. Maybe you could fire a few more people and lower our taxes while you're at it? Clearly you don't need that many employees to keep things running.

I have visited the Schaerbeek commune twice now, and both experiences have been outstanding. Every staff member I interacted with was incredibly kind, patient, and highly professional. They took the time to answer my questions, explained everything clearly, and made the entire process smooth and stress-free. It’s refreshing to encounter such a welcoming and efficient public service. Thank you to the entire team for your dedication and excellent work.

I would like to share a positive experience I had at the Schaerbeek commune. Yassin was incredibly helpful, professional, and kind throughout the entire process. He took the time to clearly explain everything and made sure all my questions were answered with patience and care. It’s not always easy dealing with administrative matters, but thanks to Yassin’s efficiency and friendly attitude, everything went smoothly and stress-free. His dedication to helping people really stands out, and it made a big difference in my experience. Thank you, Yassin, for your excellent service!

Worst public service I've ever dealt with. Registration is almost impossible and takes forever. Most of the people working there are completely unhelpful and inexperienced in dealing with international students. They tell you something different every time. Fellow students got shamed for asking to speak English. Asking for help in English was replied to in French. If you are an international student, don't expect to get the necessary registration here (which can lead to visa issues, issues opening bank accounts etc.!!!).
