Arrived 10 min before closing time, but the pharmacist wouldn’t let me in. Pharmacists should help people in need, right?

Needed the closest pharmacy for some basic painkillers and though the pharmacist was polite, I am convinced he made up a price knowing I was a tourist but was desperate so paid it anyway.
