Competent doctors and friendly but stressed staff. The problem is the management, both as regards facility management and administration. Outrageously expensive (more than € 1900.-/night basic fee plus doctor‘s fee), horrible, horrible food, the air condition is failing or very noisy, not cooling below 26 degrees on a hot day and with no possibility to open the windows which are half blind because they are so dirty. Because of the failing air conditioning, staff bring their own fans and patients are encouraged to bring their own as the hospital does not provide them (of course they would not tell you beforehand). The general cleanliness leaves to be desired, the infrastructure is run down (holes in the floor, dirty and leaking water dispensers), there is no adequate parking structure and public street parking is a whopping 30€ a day (which adds up if you’re hospitalised for some nights). The administration asks you three times for the same document etc. etc. The capital of Europe deserves better. Update, almost a year and several stays later: Imagine you’re again in hospital, there is still no working air condition in your room (where the beds are way too short for your kid’s size who admittedly is very tall), you’re on the top floor with a flat roof and an outside temperature of 40 degrees, you still can’t open the windows, they still charge you more than 1900€ a night (plus doctor’s fees), patients and nurses still have to bring their own ventilators to mitigate the heat a little bit because the hospital doesn’t provide any. So what’s new? On the plus side, they fixed a hole in the floor and put in a clean water dispenser. On the down side, they don’t feed your kid the diet he needs as they haven’t got enough staff in the kitchen „because of the heat“ and then treatment only starts the second day, among other because of lacking nurses. Fortunately the doctors are still very good, staff is still very friendly but hospital management should be locked into a hospital room during a hot summer week to taste a bit of their own medicine (no pun intended).

On 5 th september my 5y. o girl had a heart surgery. Everybody was kind and did their job very adequately, especially in ICU they were perfect . Special thanks to dr. M. Massin and the surgeon dr. A. Sannoussi they were perfect ❤️

  • Our son has multiple issues (nephrotic syndrome, diabetes and a hypertrophic cardiomyopathy) and has been treated at Huderf for the past 10 years with regular hospitalisations. We are extremely satisfied, he has always been treated according to the latest guidelines, the coordination between the different sections is excellent, nurses and doctors are really nice and competent. The food is awful, for parents it is better to get their meals downstairs at the Cozy. Rooms are almost all single with a cupboard-bed for a parent. Many parts of the infrastructure would need renovation, but the medical technical equipment is very modern and the rooms themselves are quite ok.

Strongly recommend this hopsital. They do xrays for children every day without any appointment. I found doctors to be very sure of themselves and always looking out for the child's interest with no unnecessary interventions.

The place and doctors are wonderful but receptionist for the phone call is horrible. She does not speak any English or Dutch, only French, she did not look for her colleagues who can speak any other language. I was trying to communicate in my very bad French, she just hang up the phone and she never picked up phone again that day. This is the hospital reception call and behind the call, there are children who need medical help. This attitude is really inappropriate and I strongly require to hire someone who can speak at least 2 languages, not only French. Any language barrier should not disturb the professional medical treatment for children.
