A beautiful town hall with an adjoining tapestry museum and tourist information office. The staff are incredibly friendly – they provide a wealth of information and free brochures about hiking and cycling routes. Guided tours of the entire building are offered on Sunday mornings at 11:00 AM for €5 per person. The woman who led our group was very nice and incredibly knowledgeable about the history of Oudenaarde – excellent! I'm deducting one star because of the very heavy traffic around the town hall (market square).

The City Hall is beautiful, but you are bothered by the enormous amount of car traffic driving past. Sitting on the terrace here is not something you do for pleasure. Why doesn't the municipality simply close the square to car traffic after a certain time?

What magnificent architecture! Splendid with the fountain opposite and nice little restaurants nearby where you can admire this beauty.

One of the most beautiful town halls in the Low Countries, in a fine Gothic style.
