most disrespectful people I‘ve ever met. Not able to speak a little bit of English while working with non-belgium citizens and even just hanging up the phone when asking normal questions since they cannot even answer mails over 5 weeks! And then changing my words while I’m still being patient and kind. That woman who works there has definitely some anger issues to be solved! Awful staff!

Staff are really impolite, unfriendly and will definitely not go the extra mile. It’s like they don’t care. It doesn’t promote young tax payers to settle into Lanaken which will ultimately cause Lanaken to loose taxpayers money. I have the feeling that all the staff are close to retirement and are just doing the bare minimum until their pension payout. I’ve lived in Lanaken for 2 years now and I dread going to the gemeentehuis for appointments. Always problems with communication. Don’t get me wrong- they do their job but it’s just the way they do it just sucks. Honest review.

As a foreigner, city hall is the place I have to go everywhere (mainly two things: driving license and residence card). Small village so the opening hours are not everyday but staffs I met with are friendly.

You need to make an appointment, but then, you are treated as a human being. An example for other city halls.
