I've had a letter to the Mayor for three months. Not even an acknowledgement of receipt. What a lack of courtesy! I said

  • The telephone reception was very pleasant, and the in-person assistance for changing my address and providing information was equally pleasant and courteous. The staff were smiling and professional. I remain convinced that when you are kind, you receive the same in return. I am truly delighted to have been a resident of Waremme for so long. Thank you to the municipal staff!

The service is beyond appalling. After five weeks and nine visits to the town hall, I finally got my ID card. Each time, they find a missing document and I have to come back. Instead of listing everything needed the first time, they make sure to make you come back every time just to tell you that you're missing yet another document. Between that, three strikes, two days when the computers were down, another day when the offices were closed for no reason, and a man who went to take a cigarette break in front of me while I was waiting to be served—not to mention that it was only 9:10 a.m. (and they'd been open for ten minutes)—you could say we're witnessing the very definition of what constitutes a public service.

Requests made through their online portal never seem to be processed. I requested copies of birth certificates in Namur and Yvoir and received the document in less than 24 hours. In Waremme, after a week, still nothing.

  • It's better with the microphones at the town council meetings. Perhaps we should now ask the elected officials to read their texts carefully, so they are understandable.
