Malmedy Town Hall is a lavish gift from the wealthy paper manufacturer Jules Steinbach. He donated his private home to the city of Malmedy on September 28, 1901. Through the construction of the town hall, villas for his daughters (Villa Lang and Villa Steisel), the creation of a new street named after him, and the construction of vicar houses, Steinbach profoundly changed the appearance of Malmedy's town center. The imposing town hall features a marble entrance hall with large windows displaying the coats of arms of Malmedy and its twin sisters—Beaune in France and Cochem in Germany. The town hall also boasts a large council chamber with imposing fireplaces.

Beautiful brick building. Not visited, but it's the town hall anyway. Located near the cathedral and on a quiet street.

Malmedy, where I lived for years. The beauty of the town is undeniable, but its talent for gossip and hypocrisy is a unique experience.
