I'm returning to Belgium after years abroad, in several countries. I had to obtain work permits, residence permits, and emergency permits during the pandemic, not only for myself as a Belgian citizen, but also for my partner, whose passport is much more complicated... so I know bureaucracy very, very well. Back in Belgium, I must admit I'm impressed by the welcome I received in all the government offices I contacted to re-register, and there were many. The people were friendly, efficient, and smiling, and it was easy to communicate with them. I don't know if Belgians realize how lucky they are to have such an efficient administration, which is why I decided to highlight it in Google Maps reviews. Since I live in the municipality, I had to complete a lot of paperwork to resettle. So I had to deal with several people, at reception, in the population service, in the identity card and passport service, and I was really surprised that all the people were warm, pleasant, efficient, a real pleasure.
