It's a shame there isn't a zero rating. The town is festive but very poorly managed. For example, the cleanliness of the town, the insecurity, and the never-ending roadworks... For instance, the sewer replacement and resurfacing of a street were scheduled to begin on October 1st, 2022, and are far from finished, etc., etc. The reception at the town hall... Not great.

I will give 5 stars when the residents of Bersillies l'abbaye are heard regarding the problems of the incessant passage of HGVs, the nuisances, the muddy state of the road, damaged cars, cracks in the houses..... The solution is simple, let the HGVs pass through France.

When I cross the Jeumont/Erquelinnes border via the railway crossing, everything saddens me. The further I go, the dirtier it gets, and the center of Erquelinnes is in ruins. Many shops have closed, and the sidewalks are overgrown with dandelions, thistles, weeds, and bindweed. The entire main street, from beginning to end, is like Albert 1er. What needs to be done to make this town what it once was, a pleasant and peaceful place to live?
