  • The administration has welcoming and competent staff. The only drawback is the limited opening hours, only mornings throughout the week, which restricts access to documents not available online. It's a shame not to have more convenient access.

A real pleasure on the phone. Exceptionally friendly!! I don't know who I spoke to, but this lady is a true ray of sunshine, and the problem was obviously solved 😁

  • Super welcoming staff, very attentive to citizens, even the telephone reception is very friendly, the administration is very clean and there's an elevator, impeccable service compared to some other municipalities where you're sent to 36 different offices and not with a smile. For me, this doesn't apply to the Borinage region where I was born and I'm proud of it 🥰

Getting worse and worse: insecurity, four cars were damaged in front of our house, speeding in a 30 km/h zone, failure to yield, moped and motorcycle rallies in the evenings, assaults—the town couldn't care less. Incessant demonstrations of all kinds in the main street: motorcycles, bicycles, races... it's impossible to live peacefully anymore. And now, even worse, a market from noon to midnight, right in front of our house again. The degenerates from the Dour festival invade the streets, loiter in front of shops, drinking alcohol in public, and, as if by magic, there are no police, or if there are, they're gathered around a car where, of course, nothing will ever happen. Don't you have enough parking areas or other spaces to organize this without constantly disturbing the residents? This is a town to absolutely avoid. I made the huge mistake of moving here 18 years ago, and it gets worse every year. "The committed ones," very committed to their own personal interests... everyone is protecting themselves, the police are completely ineffective and intervene according to their own interests, or according to their political affinities with this or that person, which varies depending on the officer. Don't expect your rights or your person to be respected here. At the municipal level, they tell you very clearly, they don't care about the citizens, the residents, it's not their problem, all that matters to them is ticking boxes on their platform, even if it means doing anything and everything. As for the municipal councilors, they publicly threaten to physically assault you... with complete impunity. The more they do, the worse it gets. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A PEACEFUL AND SAFE PLACE FOR YOUR FAMILY, DO NOT COME TO DOUR/ELOUGES. A word to the wise... PS: We're eagerly awaiting the new elections... After all this, we wonder why the far-right vote is increasing...

Despite welcoming staff, the organization has been lacking since the pandemic. The hours and information on the website and in person are not always consistent. Aside from that, it's easy and quick to book an appointment, and the services are very accessible.
