While visiting Dinant, my 8-year-old granddaughter is showing you a new design for a saxophone... A "rainbow" saxophone (a very topical theme).

City visited on August 24, 2025. It's a nice little tourist town with a beautiful church, a pleasant citadel to visit, and plenty of restaurants to spend half a day in. The problem is, I received a letter from a bailiff at my home demanding payment for a parking ticket (yes, I was there, I don't deny it) even though there was no indication that the space was paid (no markings on the ground, no sign) and, most importantly, I didn't have a ticket anywhere when I left. Before hiring a bailiff, which incurs additional costs, perhaps they should have sent me the original ticket or left it on my car? Oh, and when I try to call the parking lot to contest the late payment fees, they ask for a Belgian phone number to initiate a written complaint, making it impossible to do anything since I'm French. So I have a 20-day deadline before potential legal action to pay these additional fees. I contacted the bailiff by email, but I imagine he won't reply, of course. Anyway, I imagine the mayor (is that the right term in Belgium?) has shares in the bailiff's company and that it's keeping his little illicit business going. I'm going to do my best to discourage people from coming to this town, which nevertheless has great potential.
