I had a very good experience with the personeel at the city hall in Bassenge. The people are very friendly and are more than willing to speak English, Dutch or Germany as well as French, in their attempt to assist you. They are very knowledgeable about different aspect of the law pertaining to residence in Belgium as wel as many other matters. I was very appreciative of their help.

I've called 10 times, no answer. Do I need to send a registered letter to make an appointment? Because it's mandatory!

Three attempts to call since 9:10 this morning to cancel my appointment with the Bassenge population services at 10:45, due to an unforeseen event. Total wait time across the three attempts: 37 minutes, with the last one, "you're next," breaking all records at 26 minutes. Oh well, I'll have to make do until the next municipal elections…

Instead of not answering the phone when needed, and on top of that, having a festival near my home that prevents me from practicing my profession, well done, drinks and crazy people always getting closer, right? Furthermore, article R1334-31 of the public health code states: No person shall cause, by their behavior, a noise likely to disturb the peace of the neighborhood or harm human health, either by themselves or through a person, thing in their care or an animal under their responsibility.
