I wish to share my thoughts regarding children's behavior at the mosque, particularly those accompanying their parents, as opposed to those who go alone or without proper supervision. It is essential to transmit the values of Islam to our children and to educate them religiously; however, teaching them exemplary behavior in accordance with Islamic principles is just as, if not more, crucial. During prayers, it is sometimes evident that some children laugh, shout, or disturb those who are praying. This disrespectful behavior reflects a lack of parental responsibility as well as a deficiency in education. When a child is left unsupervised or left to their own devices in such a sacred place, it casts a negative light not only on family upbringing but also on our religion as a whole. Personally, I could not tolerate my son representing a bad image of what I teach him, nor could he reflect a lack of proper Islamic education. It is essential to emphasize that while talking and raising awareness are important, taking action remains indispensable. Words without concrete actions are worthless. Unfortunately, this type of problem seems to repeat itself every year in this mosque. I therefore strongly urge the implementation of concrete measures to remedy this situation and to restore fundamental respect within the place of prayer. As mosque officials, it is your responsibility to address this issue and demonstrate your accountability through real actions rather than through speeches that resurface year after year without any real implementation. Finally, I address the parents, asking them to fully assume their role. Educating our children to respect the sacred space of the mosque is a collective responsibility that contributes to preserving the dignity of our community and the beauty of our faith.
