The Berlaymont is one of the most recognizable buildings in Brussels and the headquarters of the European Commission. Built in the 1960s and shaped like a distinctive four-leaf clover, it is an impressive piece of modern architecture that towers over the surrounding area. The scale and architecture of the whole EU quarter are particularly impressive when seen in person. However, as a visitor, I would have appreciated more information about the EU itself: its role, the topics it works on, challenges it has helped solve, and those that are currently being addressed. A few display boards or information panels around the area could make the visit more informative and engaging.

Another iconic building for Bruxelles în the European area. Big open space with roads one under the other. Windy but it gives you a sence of greatness and secure.

The European Parliament Hemicycle is an interesting place to visit. The word “Democracy” is everywhere, printed in large white letters on a red background, which makes the message very clear. But at the same time, the experience felt a bit strange to me. It presents democracy as a powerful slogan, yet I did not feel that the visit really helped me understand how democracy works in practice, or how it connects with the real democratic struggles happening in the world. It is still worth seeing if you are interested in the European Union, but for me, the visit felt more symbolic than truly meaningful.

Huge X-shaped building that looks like a giant LEGO set for bureaucrats. It's the most "Brussels" background you can find, especially with the 27 flags lined up—definitely worth a quick snap to prove you were in the EU's engine room.

This is the European Commission headquarters building ! The architecture is stunning, clearly one of the first buildings you lay eyes on when you arrive to the area ! On top of being huge, the building has a unique shape ! European flags waving all around makes it easy to spot and identify. Nice sitting area in front of it and very convenient transport system around it including bus and metro 👍🏻
